Actor, comedian, and TV presenter David Walliams took the plunge into children’s literature with the ground-breaking and original novel The Boy in the Dress. This unique look at a character Dennis, a 12-year-old boy who enjoys cross-dressing, was met with great acclaim, and paints a positive picture of what for many was a taboo subject and is an endearing read. Walliam’s talent for character development followed with Mr. Stink, Billionaire Boy, and the magnificent Gangsta Granny, each of which paints a character who moves between reality and fantasy in superbly presented scenarios. With a total of 14 children’s novels to his name, Walliams is a great writer for children with rich imaginations.
