This is the first book in the truly fangtastic Amelia Fang series by author and illustrator Laura Ellen Anderson.
Amelia Fang's parents are holding their annual Barbaric ball in Nocturina and this time even the king and his son are attending the event. When Amelia's friend Squashy (a pet pumpkin) is taken away by the mean prince, she begins to question his awful behaviour. Why is he behaving so strangely?
It's a dark and gloomy Wednesday night in Nocturnia. Countess Frivoleeta Fang sipped at her Scream Tea and tapped the dining room table with her long black fingernails as the clock struck 4am. - Laura Ellen Anderson, Amelia Fang and the Barbaric Ball.
Amelia Fang is a vampire but no ordinary one. All of the characters in the series are slightly odd and super cute. The illustrations are not only lovely to look at but they also support the story. And, above all, 'Amelia Fang and the Barbaric Ball' is a fun read with genius word creations.
